At last an answer to a question that has been plaguing me for aeons! Bruce Gray of Gray and Associates in CT, USA called recently and in the guise of a query he asked "How do you get AREV to prompt for the user name when logging in from a batch file?".

After I'd given several lengthy suggestions Bruce delivered what I believe is called the "sucker punch". "No, you just type AREV ,". I've checked this out and it works. If you enter AREV , at the DOS prompt, AREV will automatically prompt for the user name. I can think of at least three people out there who are now kicking themselves. Thank you Bruce!
